I absolutely do not understand why the light rail option is even being considered when we already have a transportation solution that simply needs some timely updating. The updating will take less money and time to bring into operation, than the light rail proposal. And without the divisive push-back from the retailers on the Douglas corridor.
We need a solution for the whole Island. The light rail system option only works for the lower Island. Victoria cannot exist long term in isolation. We need that connection with the communities on the other side of the Malahat. If we don't take that into consideration, and as the challenges faced by commuters travelling over the Malahat increase, Victoria will start to loose through isloation. Let's get the E&N back on the track!

Hi- HOW CAN A LIGHT RAIL SYSTEM TO LANGFORD AND WESTERN COMMUNITIES BE PROPOSED AT A BILLION DOLLARS WHEN YOUR RAILWAY IS ALREADY THERE, OR DO THEY WANT TO USE THE ROADBED??
WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF US UP ISLAND THAT HAVE TO USE OUR CARS AS THERE IS NO SUITABLE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION ANYMORE?
WHY NOT IMBED RAILS IN ONE LANE OF THE NEW BRIDGE REPLACING THE 'BLUE BRIDGE' TO LET THE VIA DAYLINER COME BACK INTO THE CITY? ONLY CLOSE WHEN NECESSARY.
WHO IS MAKING ALL OF THE DECISIONS TO CLOSE THE RAILWAY??? IS IT REALLY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, ARE THEY ABORTING ANY RESPONSIBILITY? WHY WAS THE RAILWAY TURNED OVER TO US BY THE CPR IN SUCH POOR SHAPE? PLEASE---WE NEED THE E&N RUNNING AGAIN!
