Island Corridor Foundation Announces 3 New Board Members and Names New Board Leadership
Nanaimo, BC – The Island Corridor Foundation (ICF) announced five new Board Directors and Board Co-Chairs, who will each help support the work of the foundation in preserving and developing the Island Rail Corridor.
“We’re pleased to welcome the new Board Directors and look forward to their unique and diverse expertise and perspective as we continue our work to develop the Island Rail Corridor”, said Larry Stevenson, CEO.
The ICF also chose Aaron Stone, as its new board Co-Chairperson. Mr. Stone is the elected Mayor of Ladysmith and is also serving as the Chairperson of the Island Coastal Economic Trust.
Charlene Everson, Komoks First Nation Council and ICF board member was chosen as Co-Chair.
“I want to extend my deepest gratitude to departing Co-Chair and Board member, Dr. Judith Sayers. Dr. Sayers has long been a champion of restoring rail service on Vancouver Island, recognizing the irreplaceable value to all present and future generations of Islanders. Her exemplary service to the Island Corridor Foundation and all people of Vancouver Island cannot be overstated. I am excited to continue this important work with a diverse group of Board Members and I look forward to working with each of them as we review and advance the goals of the Island Corridor Foundation. I am also incredibly excited to be working alongside new Co-Chair, Charlene Everson (Komoks First Nation) as we lead the next chapter of innovation and renewal of rail service” said Aaron Stone.
Charlene Everson said “The Foundations work is important and has the potential to greatly benefit our First Nations partners as well as every resident and visitor to Vancouver Island. I am honoured to work with Aaron Stone in exploring the potential and leading the foundation to achieve a shared vision with First Nations and Regional Districts.”
The new Board Directors will be seated for a two-year term with the ICF effective May 26, 2022.

Mr. Tim Harris – Councillor, Stz’uminus First Nation

The Island Corridor Foundation is a non-profit society and federally registered charity established for the purposes of owning and managing the rail corridor on Vancouver Island.
