Nanaimo Train Station Stop! Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock! Free Family fun event with Live music

The Island Corridor Foundation is so happy to be hosting the Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock and greeting the riders as they arrive at the Nanaimo Train Station on Sunday, September 29th, 2019!

This will be a fun event for the whole family full of activities and entertainment including live music, dancers, balloon artists, face painting, bouncy castle, rock climbing wall, photobooth, ice cream truck, and more! The event will be free to everyone in the community! The event will run from 12:00 to 5:00pm

The ICF, along with our Rail Operator, Southern Railway of Vancouver Island, would like to invite the community to join us in our fundraising efforts and to share Nanaimo’s big, charitable heart! We hope to raise an enormous amount of money for this incredibly important charity!

We will gladly accept donations at the event. Or you can contact us directly at andreathomas@islandrail.ca if you wish to make a donation prior to or are unable to attend the event.

Larry’s Head Shaving Initiave – Total Raised So Far: $1840.00

At its roots the Cops for Cancer movement featured cops shaving their heads to show their support for the kids who are battling cancer. Our CEO, Larry Stevenson, wants to show his personal support for these kids and will be getting his head shaved at the event. Larry is hoping to raise over $5000 for the kids and we hop you can help him reach his goal! Heavy D’s Barbershop, located at 1420 Wingrove Street in Departure Bay Beach, has generously offered to donate their time and barber skills to our event! Heavy D, himself, will be shaving Larry’s head! If you would like to have your head shaved at the event, donations will be accepted day of.
Thank you to Heavy D’s for helping us with our fundraising efforts! Follow them on Facebook and Instagram Heavy D’s Barbershop   Or @heaveeedeee   Or visit www.heavydsbarbershop.com.

If you are able to help you can make your donation directly by credit card on the Tour de Rock website or you can send a check directly to the Canadian Cancer Society. Of course you will receive a tax deductible donation receipt. If you are able to help please let Andrea Thomas know you have made a donation at andreathomas@islandrail.ca or at 250-754-7254, so that we can track Larry’s progress! We will publish updates on Larry’s progress on our website and Facebook page.

This is an amazing charity that does some incredible stuff and if you can help that would be wonderful! Everything counts and is greatly appreciated!

A very special and heartfelt thank you to everyone who is so generously donating time, money, services and more to make this event a success and help raise as many funds as we can for this incredible cause!
