The province announced $1 million in funding to complete the E&N Rail Trail between Esquimalt and View Royal.
Chief Andy Thomas says it has taken a lot of work, with a lot of people to make it happen.
“It was a hard issue for a lot of our families because it would have cut right through the middle of our reserve. But we accommodated by going up Hallowell and down Admirals.”
The project will connect Hallowell and Maple bank Road on the Rail Trail.
The funding is all part of a $2.7 million provincial investment into biking projects on Vancouver Island.
